Google Pixel 10 XL: Rumors, price, specs, release date, news Our Journey Thus Far

With Google’s next-gen Pixel 10 lineup almost upon us, if the rumor mill is to be believed it’ll be the company’s most daring offerings to date. Scheduled for an August 20, 2025 release (with retail shelves expected to carry it by August 28), the new lineup will allegedly consist of four variants —Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold.

From upgrades to ultrasonic fingerprint sensors to revolutionary magnetic wireless charging, here’s the lowdown on what you should look forward to.

No more clumsy attempts to ID yourself while all digits are drenched— the Pixel 10 series will reportedly adopt an enhanced ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, further refining the Pixel 9’s advancements. As noted by Android Headlines, with this new sensor it will be faster and more precise, resulting in password-free unlocks faster and smoother than ever before.

 2. Qi 2.2 Wireless Charging & “Pixelsnap” Accessories

Well, Google may finally be jumping on the MagSafe train with a Pixel twist. Leaks indicate the incoming Pixel 10 will feature Qi 2.2 wireless charging with built-in magnets, paired with a new range of “Pixelsnap” accessories (read: magnetic chargers, stands, possibly even wallets).

The tech is supposedly driven by a ConvenientPower CPS4041 chip, able to hit 60W speeds though Google may limit it for safety. If accurate, this might have the Pixel 10 beating competitors such as the Galaxy S25 to the wireless charging race.

Next-Level Camera Stabilization & Telephoto Upgrades

Google’s computational photography is already legendary, but the Pixel 10 could double down with gimbal-like stabilization—shaky videos, nevermore. The regular Pixel 10 could finally feature a telephoto lens, even with telemacro features for clear close-up photos.

4. Pixel 10 Pro Fold thinner, Tougher, (perhaps) waterproof

Foldable fanatics, hear me now: The Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold would be Google’s slickest and most understated tech flex to date. Late breaking rumors point to a reduced hinge mechanism, a increased 6.4-inch outer display, and an IP68 rating. If so, this would make it the first foldable with IP-rated dust and water resistance, a massive victory for long-term durability.

Under the hood, it’s rumored to be powered by Android 16 on the Google Tensor G5 chip (more on that below), with class-leading RAM and storage configurations.

 5. Tensor G5 & Android 16: A Powerhouse Combo

As for the Tensor G5, this could be Google’s most powerful chip ever, courtesy of TSMC’s process (goodbye to Samsung production frying pan, fingers crossed). Coupled with Android 16, the Pixel 10 series should provide smoother than smooth performance, even more clever AI features, and keeping hold of satellite connectivity for emergencies.

6. Design: Comfortable, Yet Sophisticated

If you were a fan of the Pixel 9’s design, you’ll be on familiar ground—the Pixel 10 line is rumored to retain Google’s signature minimalist style, including traditional hues such as Obsidian (black) and Porcelain (white). The Pro models will likely carry impressive new speakers, albeit with Dolby Atmos support still in doubt.

One great little surprise though? A long-awaited “Hub Mode” that would turn your Pixel into a full-sized smart display when docked on a Pixelsnap charger (similar to Apple’s new Standby Mode).

8. Launch Timeline & Pricing

Google just canceled a Pixel Superfans preview event scheduled for late June, an after-run “Insider Event” is scheduled for September 4—after a rumored August 20 global launch. Pricing is still a mystery, but look for it to remain aggressive, with the Pro Fold probably the high end choice.

If history’s any guide, the Pixel 10 series will prove a worthy challenger in 2025’s flagship competition, thanks to AI deep learning, professional-grade cameras, and new electric magic. The Pro Fold’s IP68 rating (if accurate) would be a true industry first, and Tensor G5 + Android 16 would finally answer performance naysayers.

Save the date for August 20—it’s going to be an awesome
