The new ASUS ROG Zephyrus has a thin profile and high-quality build
ASUS officially announces its newest addition to its popular Republic of Gamers (ROG) lineup - the new ROG Zephyrus gaming notebook. This new notebook features innovative features like breathtaking OLED displays and revolutionary passive cooling technology, raising the bar for mobile gaming notebooks.
The ROG Zephyrus has long been a byword for fantastic power and slenderness, but this new version takes that credo to new extremes with technology that solves some of the most intractable problems that gamers are up against.
Revolutionary OLED Display Technology
The most striking aspect of the latest ROG Zephyrus is its phenomenal OLED screen. ASUS has fitted this gaming beast with a 16-inch OLED screen that shows true blacks, rich colors, and blindingly quick response times of 0.2ms. The screen has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and is PANTONE Validated for color precision, so it is well-suited not only to gaming but also to content creation.
The panel includes a 240Hz refresh rate support at a 2.5K resolution of 2560 x 1600, the perfect blend of gaming capability and visual quality. It's Dolby Vision HDR certified, so it'll provide excellent contrast and detail in compatible media and games.

Breakthrough Passive Cooling Technology
One of the most striking new features of the new ROG Zephyrus is ASUS's own passive cooling solution. Compared to conventional gaming laptops that place a lot of emphasis on fans that can become loud under stress, ASUS has created a high-end thermal system that integrates vapor chamber cooling, phase-change material, and smart power management.
This new cooling technology allows the laptop to operate in a nearly silent passive cooling mode during average use and light gaming. The system actively uses active cooling as needed during intense gaming, and it strikes an excellent balance between noise and performance.
It features tri-fan cooling with liquid metal compound on both the CPU and GPU, and this guarantees optimum performance even after prolonged gaming. ASUS claims that this new thermal design maintains surface temperatures significantly lower than before.
State-of-the-Art Performance
Beneath the hood, the ROG Zephyrus is fueled by serious firepower in the form of the latest Intel Core Ultra processors (up to Core Ultra 9 185H) with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070/4080 graphics. This formidable pairing can run AAA games alongside handling demanding creative workloads such as video editing and 3D rendering.
Memory configurations are up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and storage configurations are up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage. Hardware is optimized with ASUS's AI-based performance modes that dynamically switch power between the CPU and GPU based on the workload.

Improved Game Experience
ASUS has also refined aspects of the gaming performance beyond sheer performance. The keyboard features per-key RGB illumination with N-key rollover and 1.7mm of travel per key to offer responsive input during games. The audio is augmented with Dolby Atmos spatial audio and a six-speaker system with four tweeters and two force-canceling woofers to offer rich game audio.
For connectivity, it features Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 for smooth internet gaming and effortless peripheral connections. The webcam also sees an upgrade to a 1080p FHD camera with Windows Hello facial recognition support, perfect for streamers and content creators.
Battery Life Enhancements
Even with its robust hardware, ASUS has been able to make the ROG Zephyrus highly efficient with great battery life. The device comes with a 90Wh battery that lasts up to 10 hours of video or regular usage, a big upgrade compared to past gaming laptops. In case the battery needs to be recharged, the 240W USB-C power adapter provided can recharge the battery to 50% within 30 minutes.
Software and Ecosystem
The ROG Zephyrus comes factory-installed with Windows 11 and includes ASUS's Armoury Crate software to track and personalize the system. The software includes an AI-powered utility named "ROG Copilot" that is capable of changing game settings based on the game played and available system resources.
ASUS is also emphasizing the laptop's support for its growing lineup of gaming peripherals and accessories, with ROG mice, headsets, and external monitors all supported.
Price and Availability
The new ROG Zephyrus will go on sale next month starting at $1,899 for the RTX 4070 model. The top-of-the-line model with RTX 4080 graphics and top-of-the-line specs will cost $2,599. Pre-orders will begin next week on the ASUS website and at major retailers.
With its revolutionary cooling system, beautiful OLED screen, and rugged build, the latest ROG Zephyrus represents a quantum leap in gaming laptop design. It eliminates most of the trade-offs of the past that gamers have accepted when deciding on performance, portability, and quietness.
