Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra caused a sizeable stir in recent months as there was evidence that it might be released soon, and it seems that Galaxy S26 Ultra could be one of the most awaited smartphones of 2026. Several reports suggest that Samsung will probably launch the Galaxy S26 series, which will also come in the Ultra variant early next year, in January 2026, and start their sale by the first fortnight of February. There have been some rumors that Samsung might push to have an earlier launch, possibly late December 2025 to get the potential holiday market and directly target the Apple invitation to buy the iPhone families. Such an aggressive schedule is however speculative and it is to be approached in that manner.
According to leaked information, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will sport a sleeker style that has slimmer frames and a 6.9-inch Super AMOLED panel with a maximum brightness readout of 3,000 nits. Most of the world is likely to receive the device with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset, and some markets may have an Exynos 2600 variant. One of the highlights is on camera upgrades with a supposedly 200MP Sony main sensor which may be larger than the Samsung prior in-house sensors combined with an ultra-wide of 50MP, a 50MP 5x periscope and a 12MP telephoto. It is also suggested to feature an under-display selfie camera, which would allow continuous viewing.
Other leaks seem to indicate a 16 GB standard ram, a bigger vapor chamber to improve cooling, and a battery capacity of 5,000-5,700 mAh with 45W fast charging. The S26 Ultra has One UI 8, a software that runs on Android 16 and is predicted to receive seven years of software updates. The pricing is yet to be confirmed but a basic estimate indicates that it will be priced around an initial figure of Rs. 1,29,999 in India. Since this information has been grounded on leaks, they should not be taken seriously until Samsng makes official statements, but the S26 Ultra is turning into a very fierce flagship.
