Microsoft has made one more step toward bringing the Windows 11 closer to being modern and announced that the Time & Language settings will move to the more simplified Settings app instead of the legacy Control Panel. The new update, released on the latest version of Windows 11, is the result of Microsoft making a consistent attempt to integrate system configurations on a single app, still included in the Settings app, so as to enable greater accessibility and facility to users across the globe.
It is easy to configure time zones, allow automatic changes in the daylight-saving time and organize date, time and currency forms to correspond regions. The language preferences also have been redone, whereby it provides sufficient interface to add, delete or prioritize input language and keyboards, and support multilingual users. This upgrading is part of the committed migration of Microsoft to eliminate the Control Panel which is currently an antiquity and a staple aspect of Windows but could never fit in with the recently developed setting app.
The new interface is based on a touch-sensitive design, consistent with the visual side design of the Windows 11 interface, and is optimized both for less experienced users and advanced users. The options designed to accommodate all have also been improved like the ability to use screen readers, making the shift applauded in most quarters but with some longtime Windows users complaining that they are not adopting the new interface.
Microsoft has solved this by making sure it maintains its core functionalities only with additional search capabilities which allows finding settings easily. The firm also intends to teach tutorials to facilitate the shift.
