Lenovo has now launched the Legion inaugurate Tab Gen 3 as its high-profile miniature gaming tablet. The new device consists of a combination of high performance and portability, and gaming-oriented features, to attract Android gaming fans.
Several Hardware and Design Highlights.
It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and with 256GB of storage, though some areas have up to 512GB. It has an 8.8 Inch LTPS LCD with a 2.5K resolution ( 2560 x 1600 ) and a 165Hz refresh rate and displays smoother animation during gaming, and daily tasks. The screen has 98 percent of the DCI-P3 gamut, is HDR10 compatible and has a maximum of approximately 500 nits in regular mode. The tablet is made of metal and weighs approximately 350g, and is about 7.8mm thick.
Power, Cooling & Connectivity
The tablet has a 6,550mAh battery, and two USB-C ports; one port is passthrough to minimise heat production when completing challenging activities. Lenovo also improved the cooling system by adding a larger cooling vapor chamber named as Legion ColdFront measuring approximately 14% larger, to better cope with thermal throttling when gaming heavily. It has Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
Software & Updates
The device comes loaded with Android 14, and games improvements designed by Lenovo like Game Assistant and Legion Space. It is already getting the Android 15 update, which introduces new privacy features, a better taskbar, and more multitasking features optimized to use on larger screens. Lenovo is insuring three significant OS updates and a few years of security patches.
Pricing & Availability
The 256GB base model would cost the global market about US$499.99 at launch. Lenovo has also increased the price in certain markets by US 50 without much noise. The tablet is sold on the online shop of Lenovo and in the offline stores of the selected retailers.
To conclude, the Legion 3 Tab is an impressive display, with decent inner hardware, better cooling, and a definite focus on gamers. The increase in price in some areas might somewhat reduce its attractiveness, although to users who want a small Android tablet that is game-friendly, it is a leading option.
